FAQ Mount Rinjani Eco Trails
A: MRET is a Rinjani trekking operator that focuses on sustainable tourism. We use local porters, bring down all the garbage, and take care of Rinjani's nature. Our concept: Enjoy the mountain, Protect the environment, Inherit to the next generation.
A: There are 3 main routes:
1. 2D1N String Crater Rim - Suitable for beginners
2. 3D2N Senaru - Crater Rim - Lake Segara Anak - Sembalun - Most popular
3. 4D3N Torean - Senaru - Crater Rim - Lake - Sembalun - The quietest & cleanest strip
A: You can DM IG @Mount Rinjani Eco Trails, WA admin, or email. 30% DP to secure slots. Repayment during the briefing before the climb.
A: April - December. Peak season: July - August.
Closed: January - March due to extreme weather + lanes closed by Mount Rinjani National Park (TNGR).
A: Suitable, as long as you have physical preparation. 3D2N is 6-8 hours of running/day. We recommend 5km walking practice + climbing stairs 1 month before leaving.
A: Minimum age of 5 years. Maximum 70 years depending on physical condition.
Porter's maximum weight is 25kg. For guests there are no restrictions.
A: We provide: Tent, mattress, sleeping bag, 3x meal, tent toilet, porter.
What you must bring: Warm clothes, raincoat, trekking shoes, daypack, personal medicine, headlamp, sunblock.
We will send you the complete list after booking.
A: 1 Guide for max 4 people. 1 porter for 1 people.
We also have a "Sweep Guide" at the back to keep an eye on all participants.
A: Menu 3x a day + snack + fruit + coffee/tea.
You can request vegetarian, vegan, halal, and pork.
Our team's cuisine is delicious and the portions are large 😋
A: We bring "Tent Toilet" + shovel + bag.
Our principle: Leave No Trace. All dirt & wipes must be packed and brought down.
A: Only at a few points of the Crater Rim. In the lake and the trail there is no signal. This is a digital detox 😌 opportunity
A: Our guides are all P3K certified. There is a complete P3K.
For emergency conditions, there is an evacuation route and porters can help with stretchers. Insurance is mandatory.
A: Safe. We often handle family trips. Our guide is patient and friendly to the children.
On steep parts such as the peak, we can provide additional guides + extra safety.
A: This is our priority. MRET porters are paid above the UMR, get insurance, shoes, jackets, and the same meal allowance as guests.
We also limit the max load to 25kg. And exploitation.
A: Required. The package price includes TNGR insurance + basic travel insurance.
A: Including: Simaksi, guide, porter, tent, meal, transport pick up hotel in Lombok area, insurance, tent toilet.
Excludes: Plane tickets, lodging before/after the track, personal gear rental, tips.
A: Not mandatory, but highly appreciated. Standard: $30/person for guide/trips and $20/person for porter/trip. Collect 1 and give it at the end of the trip.
A: "Trash In - Trash Out". What you bring up, you must bring down. We provide trash bags to each participant. There is a special team that checks the camp area before the trip.
A: Can be done with additional permission from Rinjani National Park (TNGR). There is an extra 2 million fee. It is mandatory not to disturb animals and other participants.
A: IT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. To keep them wild and safe. Store food tightly.
A: The decision is on the side of TNGR. If canceled, we will reschedule it for free or refund 100% of the DP.
A: Yes, you can. We accept private trips with a minimum of 1 person. The prices is slightly different from our open trip schedule. Please contact us for a private trip qoute

A: Yes, airport and harbor pickup is already Included in all our package prices.
We will pick you up from Lombok International Airport LIA or Bangsal Harbor / Lembar Harbor.
Just send us your arrival details when booking. Our driver will be waiting for you with Mount Rinjani Eco Trails sign.

A: No, there is no wifi or electricity at the camps on Mount Rinjani. This is part of the experience - to disconnect from the internet and reconnect with nature 💚
We highly recommend bringing a power bank. Our guides carry emergency communication devices for your safety.
